Inspiration.
I seek it, crave it, and cannot seem to get enough of it. I actually consider myself an inspiration junkie of sorts; it is my drug of choice.
Inspiration may be addictive, but it is rarely harmful.
In the name of inspiration, I confess to have done the following:
Climbed around a hot dusty junkyard for hours, in the pursuit of the perfect abstract photograph.
Talked my husband into digging up old bleached cattle bones from frozen ground.
Bought old furniture I didn’t need because the peeling paint was so beautiful.
Spent over three hours looking for just the right aquamarine colored bead.
Gone to four different thrift stores in pursuit of the right pair of jeans to cut up and grind into handmade paper in a lovely shade of blue gray.
There is more, but you get the idea.
This all seemed like perfectly rational behavior. Well, at least it did at the time.
Perhaps there is a 12-step program out there I need to look into.
When you are inspired, really inspired, nothing stands in the way.
What inspires you?
My list is endless and no doubt yours is also. This 31 day series is about what inspires me as an artist and creating a life and work that seeks to inspire in return.
I’m hoping you will be inspired too.
I think inspiration for me comes from watching tutorials on different techniques. Seeing how easy something can be done sparks me to give it a try and put my own spin on it. Found you via 31 Days!
Hi Jenny,
I’m with you on that. Oh, the joys of YouTube! So many exciting videos to watch, the ideas are endless.
Thanks for stopping by.
