Wearing a piece of inspirational jewelry can be a tangible reminder of what is bigger than ourselves, a source of encouragement and comfort. After I created a sparkly, crystal Psalm 23 bracelet, my son wondered if I was going to make a guy’s version with a similar design. He wanted to wear one too. Well, of course! I loved the idea and was excited to come up with something he would like.
Using the same colors, but with a different style of bead, here is a Boho version of the Psalm 23 bracelet.
And in a few different band colors:
I started with some round sea glass beads. The pacific blue color suggests the still waters, the semi clear color represents the soul and the golden amber color glows like annointing oil. The matte surface and semi translucent glass contrast with the denser semi precious stone beads. Here I use amethyst (purple), aventurine (green), quartz (white), jasper (brown), obsidian (black) and garnet (deep red).
Aqua Terra Jasper comes in lovely shades of blue with veining in white, tan and brown. It resembles the blue marbled earth from space. Representing the House of the Lord Forever, maybe that is how we look from heaven.
Heishi beads complete the look, they are tiny disc beads cut from shell, glass, nuts or even vinyl records. I use a metal accent bead to frame the colored rounds and the elastic thread makes it easy to put on and remove the bracelet.
The individual qualities of each bead and the color variations make every bracelet slightly different and unique. Here is how I keep the beads organized:
